Winnie deaf and visually impaired

Personality Plus

Meet Winnie!

Winnie is a 5 month old Dachshund x (we suspect the cross is Pygmy Water Buffalo but this hasn’t been confirmed!). She is about as tiny as pups get here at HNE and weighs around 6kgs. In addition to being deaf, she is also visually impaired.

Winnie has all of her basics down pat and can sit, drop, stay and come following both touch and sign commands.

This stunning little lady is full of personality! She loves people and dogs alike and would do best in a home with a patient dog larger than she is who doesn't mind some rough-housing, or a larger calm dog. Although Winnie adores children, she is best suited to a family with children aged 5 and up. Winnie isn’t suited to a home with cats, pocket pets or poultry.

Winnie is quite an energetic girl but is easily entertained with just a short walk each day and play-time at home. She requires an adopter who is willing to continue her training. She is a very quick learner and will do anything for cheese (who knew Pygmy Water Buffaloes liked cheese?!?).

Winnie does like to think of herself as a graceful, elegant Pygmy Water Buffalo and likes to practice water aerobics when given the opportunity. She also likes to dress up when she goes out by wearing her ears inside out (presumably to make her ears more 'horn like' to more closely resemble her Pygmy Water Buffalo ancestors). She loves to keep an eye on her people, throw her toys around and snuggle with her canine foster siblings.

Medical notes

Winnie is deaf and visually impaired.
