Why Volunteer with Us?

Make a Difference in the Lives of Deaf Dogs.

Volunteering with Hear No Evil is a rewarding experience that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of deaf and special needs dogs. Our volunteers play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission by providing support in various areas such as transporting, fundraising, and more. By joining our team, you will not only contribute to the well-being of these dogs but also gain valuable experience and meet like-minded animal lovers.

Volunteering Opportunities

1. Volunteer Shelter Visits

Volunteer shelter visits are an essential part of our efforts at Hear No Evil. During these visits, volunteers follow a program specifically created to enrich the lives of deaf and special needs dogs. They spend time with the dogs, providing much-needed socialisation, exercise, and enrichment activities. These interactions help the dogs adjust to human companionship, reduce stress, and improve their overall well-being.

In addition to directly working with the dogs, volunteers build strong relationships with shelters and impart valuable knowledge to shelter staff about the unique needs of deaf and special needs dogs. This collaborative approach enhances the care these dogs receive and fosters a more inclusive and supportive environment for them. Your time and compassion during shelter visits makes a significant impact on the lives of these special dogs.

2. Transporting

Transport volunteers help move dogs between locations, such as from shelters to foster homes or to veterinary appointments. This role is vital in ensuring our dogs get the care and support they need in a timely manner.

3. Fundraising and Events

Fundraising and event volunteers assist with planning, organising, and running various fundraising activities and events. These efforts help raise much-needed funds to cover medical expenses, food, and other essential supplies for our dogs.

4. Administrative Support

Administrative volunteers help with tasks such as data entry, coordinating adoptions, managing social media, and more. This behind-the-scenes work is crucial in keeping our rescue operations running smoothly.

5. Outreach and Education

Outreach volunteers help spread awareness about our mission and educate the public on the unique needs of deaf and special needs dogs. This can involve giving presentations, attending community events, and creating educational materials.
